Game of Thrones: War for Westeros Officially Drops New Trailer

Game of Thrones fans aren't starving for content in 2026 between House of the Dragon season three and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. However, since Summer 2025, there's been one GoT title that fans have been growing increasingly impatient for news about, to the point that many thought the project had been canceled: Game of Thrones: War For Westeros.

Thankfully, this GoT-themed real-time strategy game has finally received a major update, with a new gameplay reveal trailer that gives a closer look at what the upcoming game has in store for players. While the game has also been pushed back until 2027, it looks like it will be worth the wait.

Developed and published by PlaySide Studios, Game of Thrones: War For Westeros is the perfect game for anyone who has missed the classic GoT character who defined the original series' eight seasons. War For Westeros was first shown off at Summer Game Fest 2025, making fans of George R.R. Martin's world everywhere excited. Now, after over a year of waiting for more news, the PC game has received an official new teaser trailer.

A full gameplay reveal for the title finally arrives on August 25 at gamescom. The game looks to be a love letter to classic RTS titles, with War For Westeros primarily drawing inspiration from the Total War series.

"For a whole half year I was worried because we weren’t getting any news on this, now we thriving," another user commented, highlighting the view of many.

Now, Game of Thrones fans have finally seen the full cinematic scope of War For Westeros, and understand exactly how it will play. The title is currently slated for early 2027, so baring further delays, fans don't have much longer to wait.
