Latest Updates & Nintendo Switch 2 Port Details

Capcom has finally revealed Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, the massive expansion DLC set to arrive in October 2026 alongside a Nintendo Switch 2 port. Here’s everything we know about it so far.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen release date

Following a surprise reveal during the June 2026 Nintendo Direct, we have a concrete release date for Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen and its Switch 2 port.

  • Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen release date: October 9, 2026

Is Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen coming to all platforms?

Yes, Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen will also launch on PC (Steam), PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on October 9. On those platforms, it will be released as a separate DLC pack. The Nintendo Switch 2 release includes both the base game and the new expansion.

Does the Switch 2 port of Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen have exclusive content and features?

No exclusive content or features for the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen have been revealed at the time of writing.

However, we wouldn’t be surprised if Capcom’s developers are taking advantage of the platform’s more unique features and control functionalities to make it stand out, so stay tuned for updates as the October launch date approaches.

What’s new in Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen?

Alongside new substantial updates and performance improvements, Capcom aims to expand the 2024 action-RPG “based on feedback”, enhancing the gameplay, the adventures, and the “value” of the whole package.

A new “tale of ruin unfolds” in the snowy northern region known as the Forsaken Dominion, where 12 huge dungeon challenges, new enemies, loot, and stories await. Moreover, new hairstyles and tattoos add fresh possibilities to the game’s already impressive character creation and customisation options.

The northern Norgan region was once part of the kingdom of Vermund, but it was “abandoned years ago for reasons unknown”. According to the developers, it’s an unforgiving, remarkably cold land designed to test the more experienced Arisens and their pawns.

Some pieces of gear and lost relics also come with unique abilities, skills, and effects. And while we don’t know yet how the content scales with player level (a major issue of the base game), Capcom is promising “unlimited opportunities for challenge and rewards”.
