Ubisoft has announced that Far Cry 3 Classic Edition and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Classic Edition are coming to Nintendo Switch 2.
Far Cry 3 was originally released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC back in 2013, and was later ported to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 as the “Classic Edition” in 2018.
“Far Cry 3 Classic Edition is a landmark open-world action-adventure shooter that puts players in the role of Jason Brody, a stranded tourist fighting to survive and escape a lawless tropical island,” the publisher outlines in a press release. “From tense encounters with Vaas and his ruthless pirates to outpost liberation, hunting, crafting, stealth and explosive first-person combat, players are free to carve their own path across a vibrant open world filled with danger, discovery and memorable characters.
“Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Classic Edition is a retro-futuristic standalone action shooter inspired by classic 1980s sci-fi films, sending players into a neon-soaked vision of the future packed with over-the-top action. As cyber-commando Rex ‘Power’ Colt, players battle cyborg soldiers, mutant creatures and deadly Blood Dragons in a stylish, self-contained adventure that turns the Far Cry formula into an outrageous tribute to VHS-era action fantasy.”
Far Cry 3 Classic Edition and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Classic Edition will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide in Spring 2027.
